Do you remember that my blog had 3 columns some time ago?
I I added the third column myself as Blogger didn't have a template with 3 columns at that time.
After a while I changed it back to 2 columns because I thought the 3 columns was too much. Recently I found out that Blogger's standard minima template almost had the same size as my "3 columns changed back to 2 columns" handmade blog design.
I fiddled around on a test blog (yep I saved my template before I started) and it turns out I was able to keep all the bling I added so far. The only thing that seems to have a life of it's own is the blog is the counter provided by Neocounter, I have to look into that.
Why did I change it:
- The Background Fairy made a very nice background that can be installed through the template designer. I have been looking for something nice for a while, of late I thought that my blog looked a bit bare. I have plans to make my own background in Elements, I found a tutorial for that.
- I am able to use the new fonts offered by Blogger. If I wanted to change the font in my old template I had to jump through 3 hoops while keeping 3 balls in the air. The 3 hoops is o.k., but the 3 balls would have been a disaster. Well O.K., I am too lazy.
- I can get rid of the Mippin mobile blog as Blogger has it's own mobile template.
- I can change the width of my blog and columns easily (after I found out how I can make the photo in blog header stay in the center). If you know, let me know!
Let me know what you think of it so far!
Have a nice weekend,
