I love to embroider. Although I don’t do it often, I have made several smaller things over the years. I found some nice blogs who’s owners love to embroider. One of them is Petit Détails. Shannon is an American married to a Frenchman living near Paris (sigh). On her bi-lingual blog she shows her lovely embroidery. In her shop your can buy fabric, embroidery linen, ribbon and French books about embroidery.
I love her projects white and red on natural colored linen. I decided to give it a try. I found a nice template on the internet of a heart. I bought some of Shannon’s linen.
This was the package that arrived (minus the thread). Lovely, isn’t it. Packed carefully with an eye for detail. I love the petit details, they make life so much nicer.
I already made a start and found out that this kind of linen is harder to embroider because the weave is uneven. Never mind! The free template I found at Le Grenier de Zoé.
A few nice blogs:
P.S. Shannon’s blog and shop will be closed untill July 1th.
