Six is the number of our home. It says so on the front of our house. Our front door is on the side of the house and there is no house number there. I made one of a wooden label I bought last year and attached it to the heart wreath on our front door.

It looks good (if I may say so).

The ribbon I used is cute too. It is by East of India. I saw a pic of the ribbon on a Dutch blog and I had to have it. What can I say, I indulged.

I still haven’t made up my mind about the color of the front door, but there still is some time. We want to have the door replaced before winter.

In the mean time we are buying the front garden. Yes, I know how it sounds, but the garden was never ours. When my parents bought the house in 1972  they weren’t able to buy the front garden, because the letting company (the seller) wanted a uniform look in the street. All the gardens looked the same (a small lawn and a border with roses). I tried to buy it a few years ago but their asking price was way too high.

Now we are getting it for free LOL  They want to get rid of all those small pieces of land they own and can’t use and that is our luck.

  1. Your heart is so beautiful at the front door, a warm welcome for your guests.
The ribbon is really great, the colors I LOVE IT.
Beautiful pictures, greetings and a great day Irma

  2. I love the way you have put the house number on the wooden label.

Wish I'd thought of that when I put up my Christmas wreath last December over the top of the house number.

Like you, we are hoping to get a new front door before the winter which means I won't be able to hang any wreath on it (I think) unless I put it to the side. Might adopt your house number idea if you don't mind.

  3. cute heart! wow, you made that yourself? oh, and congrats on your front yard! i can't believe people own "front yards". it's strange to think that when you go buy this house the front yard isn't included. lol

  4. Awesome post, thanks a lot for sharing this with us!
